Growing Towards a Greener Future
At Koala Cherries, sustainability is not a trend. It is a responsibility.
We depend on the pristine environments of the Strathbogie Ranges, Yarck, and Cobram to grow the high-quality cherries our customers know and love. Protecting these landscapes ensures that future generations can enjoy the same flavour, freshness, and natural beauty that we do today.
Every decision we make, from how we nurture our trees to how we pack our fruit, considers our environmental footprint. We are always working to use fewer resources, create less waste, and care for the land that sustains us.
We want our orchards to stay healthy and full of life, so that we can keep seeing koalas visit us every now and then for years to come.

Sustainable Packaging
Reducing plastic waste is one of our biggest priorities. Since 2022, all of our packaging has been made with at least 80% recyclable materials, and we’re actively moving towards 100% recyclable and compostable options wherever possible.
We’re constantly exploring new materials and designs that protect our cherries while reducing waste, without compromising freshness or presentation.

Renewable Energy
Our packhouse and orchards harness solar energy to power operations as much as possible. Investing in renewable energy helps us reduce carbon emissions and our reliance on non-renewable sources, ensuring that the same sun that ripens our cherries also powers the process of getting them to you.

Our Commitment
We know there’s always more to do. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and at Koala Cherries, we’re dedicated to improving every year, whether that’s through smarter packaging, cleaner energy, or regenerative farming techniques.
Because growing cherries sustainably isn’t just good for business, it’s the right thing to do for our planet, our people, and our future.
