Australian cherry season is short, which is part of what makes it so special. But for the first time, we’re bringing premium cherries to our online customers during the Australian off-season. Each winter, we partner with a small group of trusted growers on the USA West Coast whose harvest begins as ours ends. We’ve known these growers for years and work with them because they share our commitment to flavour, freshness, and quality. While nothing quite compares to Australian summer cherries, this limited seasonal release is a delicious way to enjoy great cherries through winter.
Why West Coast Cherries?
Important: Residential delivery only. We can not guarantee delivery to shopping centres, office building specific floors or suites, or hospitals
Grown during the Northern Hemisphere cherry season, our West Coast Cherries are sourced from a small group of trusted growers on the USA West Coast whose orchards produce sweet, crisp fruit during the Australian winter months. The cooler growing regions and careful harvest timing help deliver cherries with excellent flavour, firmness, and freshness.
Once the fruit arrives in Yarck, every cherry is run through Koala Cherries’ advanced grading technology for a final quality check before packing. This helps ensure only cherries that meet our standards for colour, texture, and eating quality make it into each box.
Like all cherries, West Coast Cherries are naturally rich in antioxidants, including anthocyanins, and provide vitamin C and fibre to support overall wellbeing. They’re a simple way to enjoy fresh seasonal fruit through the cooler months.
Available for a limited time from June to August, this seasonal winter release offers cherry lovers the opportunity to enjoy premium cherries beyond the Australian summer season.
While nothing quite compares to locally grown Australian summer cherries, our West Coast range is carefully selected, quality checked, and packed with the same attention to freshness and flavour that defines Koala Cherries.
Whilst we can't guarantee a specific date or time, due to cherries being weather dependent, you can select your preferred delivery date in the checkout. These will be tailored to your location. If no dates are available please reach out. 90% of deliveries arrive on their preferred delivery day.
Deliveries are best suited to residential addresses. Office deliveries are not recommended. Our courier partner is not required to use elevators, if there is no building reception your cherries will be left in the building lobby, please consider delivering to a home address instead. As Cherries are fresh produce, we can not deliver to PO boxes. We also strongly discourage deliveries to shopping centres or hospitals, as refrigerated couriers are not set up to deliver to these types of addresses. The couriers do not require their drivers to knock so please keep an eye on your delivery notifications on the day of arrival.
We currently deliver to most of Victoria, and select areas of New South Wales (including Sydney) and Queensland (including Brisbane). You can check our delivery locations on our 'where we deliver' page.
Your cherries are packed in our facility, staying chilled in transit thanks to our refrigerated courier service. Shipping cost is calculated based on your location and how many boxes are delivered to the same address—multiple boxes to one location reduce freight cost per box.
Deliveries are best suited to residential addresses. Office deliveries are not recommended. Our courier partner is not required to use elevators, if there is no building reception your cherries will be left in the building lobby, please consider delivering to a home address instead. As Cherries are fresh produce, we can not deliver to PO boxes. Because our online orders are taken in advance and cherries are highly seasonal, we can’t guarantee a specific variety for online deliveries. Each day at the orchard different varieties come into season, and this can change quickly. When packing your order, our team simply selects the best and freshest variety available on that day, ensuring you receive premium cherries at their peak. When it comes to size, we guarantee a minimum of 28–30mm for all online orders. However, due to natural variation throughout the season, we can’t promise any size above that range. At certain times we may not have cherries larger than 28–30mm available, so our guarantee is based on what we can consistently and responsibly supply. Rest assured, whether it’s variety or size, we always pack the highest-quality cherries we have available at the time of dispatch.
Your cherries will be perfectly fine if left out for a little while after delivery, but it’s best to pop them in the fridge as soon as you can. Keep them wrapped in the inner liner when you’re not eating them, it’s specially designed to help your cherries stay fresh and crisp for longer.
